Along with Corton, Pommard is certainly the most well-known name of great reds of the Côte de Beaune. To be able to make wine in this region is indeed a privilege. In addition, Maison Fatien also has the honour of being involved in the production of the highest quality of Premier Crus of the village: Rugiens. This vineyard of just 12 hectares owes its name to the presence of iron oxide which renders the soil red. It is here that the most full-bodied and rounded reds of the Côte de Beaune are made. Great firmness, powerfulness and an exceptional capacity for ageing are without doubt the trademarks of Pommard Rugiens.
