Gevrey-Chambertin is the holy grail for lovers of Côte de Nuits wines. This commune, 15 kilometres south of Dijon, boasts the greatest number of Grands Crus in Burgundy: eight in total. Amongst those, Chambertin and Chambertin Clos de Bèze. Immediately above the latter, blooms the Climat Bel Air. As its name indicates, we are talking about the upper slopes of the hill. A stunning parcel of vines with an unsurpassable view of the vineyards below. The vines are planted at a height of 350m, on the slope, and exposed to the east-south-east.
Gevrey Chambertins are generally robust and powerful wines. The shallow soils of this climat give an added finesse and elegance to the wines produced here. The presence of rock nearby assures the wine minerality and enormous character.- Food pairings
rib of beef; game birds; grilled or roast pork.
